Te Rarawa woman of mana, teacher, storekeeper and community leader, Dame Whina Cooper led the fight for Māori land rights. She is most well known for leading the 1975 hīkoi in protest of the breaches of Te Tiriti.
This is an original pen and watercolour painting created using Winsor & Newton Professional watercolour paints and pigment liner on Hahnemühle hot pressed paper.
